Olor a Rosas Invisibles / The Scent of Invisible Roses by Laura Restrepo

This is “the story of two lovers who meet again after 40 years.” I liked this long short story by Laura Restrepo because it examines the man-woman relationship and adultery from the masculine side, narrates it through a male voice, and innovates in using an advanced-age, gray-haired protagonist who feels his hands sweating and a fresh breeze just like he did when he met his lover forty years earlier. The style is agile and concise, just like the love affair itself. This bilingual edition is ideal for Spanish language students, or a Spanish book club.
